New Beginnings

I've stumbled through pages and pages of quotes. In search of what? That's the question that I'm trying to figure out as well. Each time I read another quote my heart swelled and felt lighter and yet heavy at the same time. I've discovered one thing for sure: over the years, I've meticulously stacked bricks up and shrunk behind a thick wall. Perhaps I thought that I could be the person I wanted to be or appear a certain way to please my friends. I just didn't know. I was oblivious. A feather in the wind. Lost.

My best friend Tom would always ask me why I wouldn't take the initiative when I knew something was right. I would always reply that leaders don't follow, they get followed. But how could I have been a leader if I didn't jump off the cliff myself? So scared to be vulnerable. I was stuck in the hypotheticals, the "what if's". Like that, seconds, hours, days strode by without tapping on my shoulder.

This is a new era. No more walls.
Danger, throw yourself at me.
Risk is my middle name.
