I MISS YOU JAPAN!!!!

This spring break definitely outranked the others. Japan opened my eyes to a new beautiful culture where respect was not an option but contagious throughout the entire country. We landed in Tokyo and stayed for four days. That city changed my life. I discovered that I was a talented navigator when RJ and I got dangerously separated from the group in the freezing rainy streets of Shibuya, the major shopping avenue in Tokyo. Our rooms were so tiny but adorable. The other group was from Los Angeles and they were from an all boys Catholic school. They eventually found the beer in the vending machines and got hammered. It the funniest thing to see for a sober person. Also, we had french fries for breakfast almost every day. The subway was cramped like sardines in a can but it was awesome. We slept on futons, a traditional style Japanese mattresss on floor, and wore kimono things at Sunmi Club in Hakone. The funny thing about the kimonos was that we couldn't wear any other articles of clothing underneath. Naomi and I broke the rules and wore camis. The dinner that night was an eight or nine course meal which was laid out diagonally in order from right to left. Kyoto was next and we saw too many Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines to count. I tried Japanese green tea flavored soft serve icecream and fell in love with it. I miss it already. The cherry b;ossoms made me feel as if I was walking in a fairyland. I am proud to say that I did not have McDonalds once even though it was around every corner. Osaka was a mini Tokyo. On our last night we became really good friends with the other group and sang karaoke. Too bad my cash ran out so quickly so I struggled sometimes trying to find a place that would accept my credit card. There is so much from this trip that I could be typing for days. So to close this post off I will end it with some new inside jokes:
